I wanted to be part of something bigger than sales, bigger than working for someone else: a place that actually matters to everyone who walks through the door, somewhere people feel better walking out than they did walking in.
When you’re in my class, I want you to feel like you’re exactly where you’re meant to be. I challenge the mind as much as the body, and I want the lessons to follow you out of the CLASSroom (pun very much intended). I crack a lot of jokes (I’m usually the only one laughing) and I try not to take myself too seriously, though I’ll admit I can be a little bossy as an instructor.
A lot of how I think about movement traces back to being a Division 1 diver. The discipline that season demanded has followed me ever since; it’s what pushes me to be the best at whatever I take on. If there’s one thing I tell clients over and over, it’s this: it’s never about how many reps you can do. It’s about how many you can do correctly. Less is more here. My hope is that you leave feeling empowered, on cloud nine, ready to take on the world, with more than just a good workout. Even if all you take with you is a laugh from one of my dad jokes.
My training runs deep: 500 hours of fully comprehensive teacher training through Club Pilates, the highest level of certification the institution offers and nationally recognized. I dove in head first, actually right in the middle of planning our destination wedding. A friend who was already a Pilates instructor strongly encouraged this specific program, and I’m so glad she did.
Outside of CLASS, I’m a wife, friend, sister, daughter, and a full-time pharmaceutical sales rep. My husband and I moved to Guilford two years ago, but nothing has made it feel like home the way building CLASS has.
